Mitsui India performs the central role of the coordinating trading company in the long-term iron ore trade between Indian suppliers and international steel mills located in Japan and China.

The Indo Japan and China iron ore trade, through which Mitsui co-ordinates, has an annual trade volume of almost 4.3 million tonnes. The company exports iron ore to Japan and China through leading suppliers like MMTC and Sesa Goa.

Mitsui facilitates export of High Carbon Ferro chrome & Silico Manganese to steel plants in Japan & SE Asia.

Mitsui plays a leading role in non-ferrous metals and ferrous raw materials by trading globally, fully utilizing Mitsui's international network of offices.

The commodities handled include copper concentrates and cathodes, bauxite, alumina, primary and secondary aluminium, nickel, pig iron, ferrous scrap, stainless steel scrap and Hot briquetted iron. Mitsui also handles specialized non-ferrous metals products such as catalytic converters (for automobiles).
