a) Refinery
For Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd.(MRPL) , Mitsui arranged the vital finance package while Toyo Engineering Corporation executed the EPC for grass root Refinery project of 9 MMTPA , ahead of schedule by about two months. Since commissioning, the refinery project operations are smooth and trouble free.
b) Urea-Ammonia Fertilizer Plant
EPC services on LSTK basis with financial arrangements: Phase I of Urea Ammonia Fertilizer Project of Chambal Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd., Kota (CFCL) was duly constructed by Toyo Engineering: Corporation ( TEC ). Mitsui arranged financial package for Urea Ammonia Fertilizer Project Phase II of CFCL in association with Toyo Engineering Corporation, Japan, the EPC contractor for Ph II. Since commissioning of Ph II, CFCL has become the largest manufacturer of Urea in the private sector in India.
c) Chlor-Alkali Plant
Mitsui's 100% subsidiary company, M/s Chlorine Engineers Corporation Ltd., Tokyo, pioneers in Membrane process (in both mono-polar and bi-polar types) for Chlor-Alkali plant has successfully commissioned a 150tpd NaOH plant in December 1996, for SPIC-Heavy Chemicals Division (presently owned by M/s. Tamilnadu Petroproducts Ltd.) at Chennai, Tamilnadu State. Chlorine Engineers Corporation Ltd. has supplied the basic engineering for the Cell room and also have supplied 44 sets of DCM405 type electrolyzer, piping and instruments inside the Cell room.

DCM405 type electrolyzer was selected in order to fully utilize the available Rectifier capacity of 56KA x 300V.

Chlorine Engineers Corporation Ltd. has also extended their technical assistance for assembly of Electrolyzer and for start-up and test run of the plant.
d) Toray RO Systems
Mitsui provides marketing and technical support for Reverse Osmosis elements and equipment of Toray Industries Inc. , for Indian market. Toray is one of Japan's largest and most diversified manufacturers of synthetic fibers and polymer products.
