a) Turnkey expertise and experience in India for thermal and hydro projects
    (electro- mechanical lots )
Mitsui did the turnkey project of Anpara ‘B’ Power Project (Capacity 2 X 500 MW), Uttar Pradesh, as the main contractor. The contract was awarded in March, 1989. Toshiba Corporation and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries supplied the main equipments such as Turbines and Boilers for the project respectively. The Project was funded by Japan Bank for International Cooperation and was successfully completed in 1994.

Mitsui was also awarded the contract for Electro-Mechanical Equipment of Purulia Pumped Storage Project (Capacity 4 X 225 MW) by West Bengal State Electricity Board, Calcutta (now Kolkata). The project is under execution stage and will be completed in the year 2008. Mitsui & Co., Ltd., being the lead partner of the consortium comprising of Mitsui - Toshiba Corporation - Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Japan.

Mitsui is currently executing the contract for Supply of equipments for Lot – 6 Electrical & Mechanical Works of Teesta Stage-V Hydro Electric Project (Capacity 3 X 170 MW) by M/s. National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited, Faridabad. Toshiba Corporation, Japan is supplying the Turbines for the project. The Project will be completed in the year 2008.
b) Expertise and knowledge for executing hydro/coal/gas projects one single point responsibility

Mitsui has vast experience of executing the Coal Fired Projects (including Super Critical Coal Fired Projects), Combined Cycle Power Plant, Hydro Projects and renewable and non-conventional energy based projects, through out the world. Mitsui has executed many projects on turnkey basis.
c) Alliance and experience of working with major world renowned manufacturers.
 
Mitsui has experience of working with renowned manufacturers such as GE, Alstom, Siemens, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Toshiba, IHI, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Hitachi, Fuji Electric, Hyundai, for various power projects. Mitsui had jointly developed the project and also shared the development cost and risk.
 
d) Experience of arranging the finance for mega projects.
 
Through our international network, Mitsui has successfully arranged the funds through JBIC, US-EXIM and World Bank for various infrastructure / power projects including many in India.
